Al Batinah Expressway is one of the largest civil engineering infrastructure projects underway in the Middle East and will eventually stretch over 265 kilometres. The total project is valued at US$ 2.6 billion.
The client is the Oman ministry of transport and communications.
On completion, the expressway will link Muscat, to the new Sohar Port and industrial area and to the UAE border.
The project commenced in 2012 and is scheduled for completion by mid-2017 for the initial 6 major packages of the eventual 11. The remaining packages are currently at tender review stage.
